Diamond Products

A diamond blade comprises three essential elements: 1. Segment, 2. Segment Attachment, and 3. Steel Centre.

Segment:

The cutting edge is generated by the inclusion of industrial-grade diamond grit in many instances this diamond grit is incorporated into a matrix bond, consisting of a blend of copper, tin, carbon, iron, cobalt, nickel, graphite, and other components. The wear rate of the segment, as well as the frequency of exposure of the cutting surface to a new layer of diamond grit, is determined by this matrix bond. The collective term for the combination of diamond grit and matrix bond is commonly referred to as the segment.

Segment attachment:

The primary methods for affixing a segment to the steel center are laser welding and sintering. Laser-welded items typically fetch a higher price because of the elevated manufacturing expenses associated with individually attaching the segments to the steel center. On the other hand, sintered products can be manufactured in larger batches, leading to a reduction in the manufacturing cost per item.

Steel centre:

The design and quality of the steel centers employed in the production of diamond blades can vary depending on the grade of steel utilized. Often, the steel center is proportionally aligned with the anticipated segment lifetime. The material application of a diamond blade plays a role in determining whether cooling holes or undercutting protection are necessary for the steel center. Additional features for the steel center include options such as laser scrolling and a sandwich center, both employed to mitigate resonant noise during cutting.
